A Framework for Living Labs in Social Welfare: A Participatory Evaluation Approach

Overview

Presented at the recent AIFS Conference by Dr. Bengianni Halil-Pizzirani (Impact Initiative) and David Poynter (Anglicare Victoria), this session explored the use of Living Labs as a participatory evaluation framework in social welfare. Drawing from co-design methodologies, the presentation focused on how Living Labs foster deeper involvement of individuals with lived experience in the design and evaluation of services. The team shared insights from their collaboration with youth consultants and outlined the systemic barriers and opportunities for embedding client voice into service improvement.
