Key influences on university students’ physical activity: a systematic review using the Theoretical Domains Framework and the COM-B model of human behaviour
Overview
This manuscript, a collaboration with BrainPark (Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health, Monash University), the Centre for Behaviour Change (University College London), and QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, presents a systematic review of the factors influencing university students' physical activity. The study applies the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) and the COM-B model to categorise the barriers and facilitators impacting physical activity. It highlights key elements such as social influences, environmental context, and behavioural regulation, providing a foundation for targeted interventions to enhance student participation in physical activities.
